Ranking The Wrigley Field Summer Concerts

According to the internet and Rolling Stone Magazine, Wrigley Field was ranked as the #1 Outdoor concert venue in the United States. Now, to be completely transparent with my readers (many of you don't know me personally) I've actually never been to a concert at Wrigley. However, I do live across the street and listen to every show from my porch. So I feel like, between my extensive music knowledge and my love for Wrigley, I'm a credible and honest source for the following ranking of the upcoming Wrigley Summer Series.

6) Morgan Wallen

Now listen, I'm not a country guy. Want to be transparent with my readers. But one of the MAIN attributes that I'm looking for in an artist at Wrigley is jamability. Either the artist has absolute bangers or the artist plays jammy music (See Dead And Company). You're there to take it all in and just have fun. Morgan Wallen is just not that guy for me. He has a couple good songs if I was sitting around a bonfire at the end of the night on my 13th beer about to call it quits. Or if I was on a boat wakesurfing at about 4:45pm just kind of sitting back watching some cool Michigander tear up a wake. But I'm not doing either of those things so he lands at #6 for me. Also, kind of racist?

But, if you're into that, I have 2 tickets I'm looking to sell so hit me up if you're trying to see Morgan Wallen. You most likely know me personally so feel free to text me.

5) P!NK

I originally had P!NK 6th. Had to Google her because I thought it was Gwen Stefani this whole time. It's not. However, after a quick Google and checking out her top songs on Spotify, P!NK has some BANGERS. Very high Jamability score here for P!NK. Some of her songs are a little too slow and emotional though which held her back from climbing any higher on this list but she has enough high energy songs that will keep a Wrigley crowd jumping and singing along.

4) Guns N' Roses

Are they extremely old and a little fat? Yes. But do they still have BANGERS? YES. They won't be running around stage and "rocking out" but they also don't have to. They'll put on a good show and you'll know the songs that they're playing. That's all you need. They would be higher on this list if it was more rare seeing them at Wrigley.

3) Dead and Company

A classic staple of a Wrigley Summer. From a porch people watching perspective, this might be the #1 concert. I LOVE Dead heads. They are some of the most interesting people and you can sit there all day watching them just interact and live life. They come early and they stay very late. As for the music, not my cup of tea. I don't really know any of their songs or anything BUT they have a high jammability score. Every song just kind of makes you want to dance and just enjoy yourself. It especially helps if you buy a balloon from one of the nice humans outside.** Plus, this is the LAST show for Dead and Company which has bumped them up this list a bit.

**Do not actually do this. I have not done this myself and I do not endorse. Just smoke weed.

2) Fall Out Boy

Head into a time capsule as a 29 year old and head back to the mid 2000's and get ready for hit after hit with Fall Out Boy. A few of their "newer" songs are a little annoying but they have so many singable and danceable songs from the early years to make this a great show. They also played at Wrigley in 2021 alongside Green Day and Weezer so it's not as exciting as that show but still this one lands high on the list just for the laundry list of songs that you know by them. Jamability off the charts.

1) Bruce Springsteen

THE BOSS. A legendary performer at a legendary venue. What more could you ask for? Bruce ranks in the top 26 for highest selling artists just 25 spots behind The Beatles. His energy and stage prescence is perfect for Wrigley and let's be honest, he probably isn't going to be doing this much longer. Close your eyes and picture "Born In The USA" blasting from the outfield with the scoreboard in the background and a beautiful Chicago Summer night sky resting behind it. Open your eyes. You want tickets...

I know what you're probably thinking...how the hell can I get my hands on these tickets?? Am I going to have to pay and arm and a leg on Stubhub plus pay ALL OF THOSE FEES?? Well consider yourself lucky. Because your friend Jack over here has 8 tickets that he's trying to sell. Want to see THE BOSS live at the most historic outdoor venue in the country? All you have to do is shoot me a message and we can work out a friends and family discount for any number of my 8 tickets.
